WA5KUB begins tests

New server for HamVention Cam

I'm testing the new video server that we will use this year. In past years we have very limited bandwidth and only a few people around the world could connect to my laptop cam at a time. Now with the new server I'm installing, hundreds should be able to see it at the same time. I have located the server at my office and it is on a very high bandwidth connection. The laptop now will send a single streaming feed to that server and everyone will watch it off the server. We also plan to implement our own chat window with the cam. For now the feed is from my radio shack (also make note that you might get a black picture at night when the lights are off)

I have changed the URL for the test feed . Please view it at

I am needing feedback from everyone as to if they have problems getting the feed. Please check it out whenever you guys can and send me an e-mail if you are having trouble

or

Tmedlin@midsouth.rr.com

PS one can check for room availability for the HamVention at

seems to be lots of room left.

IOOK - Yuma Hamfest Update

IOOK - Yuma Flea Market Spaces Confirmed

Attention IOOK!

The Yuma Hamfest is quickly approaching (February 18 19 & 20)! If you would like further information about the hamfest, you can go to the following site:

www.yumahamfest.com

It looks like about 22 IOOK'ers are planning to make the trip. It surely will be a fun IOOK time!

I recently received confirmation for our flea market spaces! They are: M4, M5 and M6. These are located due north of the south entry gate and due west of the east entry gate.

Best 73 and Yee haw!

Photo Page Updates

Two Updates for the IOOK

Howdy IOOK!

Well, the phone company has finally seen fit to repair our phone line after several days of constant HUMMM which was caused by the extreme (5 plus inches) amount of rainfall following the thaw of the snow. We now can now not only get telephone calls, but also check our e-mail and make outgoing calls! Yippee!

Because of that delay I have made two updates to the Photo page at www.iook.org. The first is N8KXM's accounting of the record snowfall at his place in Englewood, Ohio just prior to Christmas. The second update is the installation of WD8CJD's "new" to her 100 watt UHF Mitrek radio in her new 2004 Malibu.

Best regards, Keith
